Look at this fine gentleman on the left. Do you see fear behind his IR-reflective sunglasses? Me neither. However, this man's age has passed, though not so long ago. Modern problems require modern solutions. Nowadays, you can pretty much build yourself a full-blown PC that will fit into a lunchbox - for a reasonable price. Slap a GSM/LTE antenna on it, jack in an SDR or NFC/RFID module - choice is yours. But remember the core concept - you can make computers better than anyone can. Run an obscure or entirely custom OS - you know, fuck around and find out what suits you best. Write your own software, if you can. If you can't - perfect time to start learning. Think about what you need, want and can do, and move urther from that. Don't be afraid to ask for help - just do it in a proper way through proper channels.

Now, think about your style. Yes, style. We have all the corporate oppression and mass surveillance in this early cyberpunk dystopia, but we lack the coolness of it. Become one. Grab some real drab or better - make your own. Remember - there's a word "-punk" in "cyberpunk" for a reason. Think about how you move around the city. Start noticing surveillance cameras as you walk, and try some exercises to avoid them. Learn your turf - you can successfully outrun/ambush absolutely anyone if you are in the area you know. Read more, lurk more. Information is your air - you can't exist without it. Also, you can probably make some pocket money with your skills by just jacking in here and there. Just be careful - you don't want to end up in a blacksite.
